Robert "Bob" Zatezalo

Robert “Bob” N. Zatezalo, 72, passed away on February 13, 2023 in Pittsburgh, PA. Bob was born in Pittsburgh to Nicholas and Dorothy (Buczkowski) Zatezalo on December 20, 1950. He is preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Zatezalo.

Bob graduated in 1969 from Allegheny High School. He married the love of his life, Michele, on August 18, 1978 and they were together for 44 wonderful years (although according to Bob, even 44 years was not long enough). Bob served as an altar boy for many years. Bob was an avid sportsman who enjoyed spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed learning about cars, aircrafts, and took flying lessons. Bob was also known as a military history buff, especially World War II. You would be hard-pressed to find a fact about WWII that Bob didn’t already know. Bob also loved to turn a good tale; his engaging personality earned him a new friend wherever he went, and he was always ready for the next adventure. He will be truly missed.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Michele Zatezalo; his daughter, Stacey (Kristina Howell) Zatezalo; mother, Dorothy Zatezalo; brother, James (Leslie) Zatezalo; much-loved nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine protector, Ari.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at H.P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. A religious service will take place on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 12pm at the funeral home. Family will receive friends from 11am until the start of the service.
