Viola F. Barker, 93, of Emsworth, died on Saturday, February 19, 2011. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles in 1990. Loving mother of Linda Holmes, David Barker and the late Nancy Rattenni; proud grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 10, whom she loved dearly. Viola was a generous and open-hearted woman who loved her family. Nothing made her happier than having a large group of family assembled that she could cook for, and her cooking was legendary among friends. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Viola also loved serving Jehovah God and teaching the Bible to others. It was a main focus of her life and she helped many people to come to a knowledge of the Bible.
Friends received Monday, February 21st, from 5-8pm at Orion C. Pinkerton Funeral Home, Inc., 1014 California Ave., Avalon 412-766-5600. Memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday, February 26th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 173 Reis Run Rd, North Hills.
