Virginia Yingling

Virginia (Ginny) Yingling, age 97, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. She was born in Pittsburgh on November 9, 1927 to Esther and Elmer Yingling. She graduated from Westview High School in 1945. Ginny was a former employee at Young Brothers Insurance Agency, and was a valued member of the company for 40 years (1947-1987). Ginny also worked for the North Hills News Record from 1987-1992. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland and faithfully attended for many years.

In her earlier years, Ginny enjoyed travel adventures with her girlfriends. For the past 20 years, you could find Ginny down at Yingling's Bicycle, Bait and Tackle Shop, visiting with customers, helping with special chores and sharing a cup of coffee and a donut with her nephew, Dwight.

Ginny was always happy being outside in her yard, mowing the grass, enjoying her beautiful flower gardens, and feeding the birds faithfully every day. She was still mowing, raking leaves and shoveling snow throughout this past year.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Elmer Yingling, brothers Robert and Earl Yingling, nephew, Todd Yingling and her cherished cat, Cody.

Ginny is survived by a cousin Jim Yingling, and was a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Ginny made friends everywhere.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to H. P. Brandt Funeral Home, 1032 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April, 26, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Kari Smail of St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland will be officiating.

Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service at Allegheny County Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Ave, Allison Park PA. Family and friends are invited for food and refreshments after the interment at St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland, 311 Cumberland Road, Pittsburgh PA.
