

Wade McDowell, 71 of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on the morning of February 14, 2026 after a brief illness. He was born in New Castle on November 1, 1954 to the late Boyd McDowell and Mary Ellen (Vogt) McDowell. Wade was raised in the Catholic faith. He graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1972 and attended Youngstown State University. After school, Wade worked at his family's restaurant, McDowell's Hotel and Amber Room until it's closing in 1995. He also worked at the New Castle Country Club where he tended bar for many years in the Men's Grille Room. Wade retired from Castle Mold and Tool as a machinist.
Wade was known to all as a "general overall good guy" who enjoyed family get togethers and being with his friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his mother Mary Ellen, he is survived by his nephew Josh (Kathy) McDowell, sister-in-law Elaine McDowell, special cousins, Linda (David) Turner Chenoweth, Beth Turner Manning, Alice (Phillip) Clark, and dear friend Rusty (Laura) Clark.
He is preceded in death by his father Boyd, brother Rick McDowell and friend Todd Clark.
Following his wishes there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to H.P Brandt Funeral Home, Pittsburgh PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Wade's name to the Ellwood City Public Library or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
