Wallace J. “Mac” McCartney, age 90 of Ross Twp., passed away peacefully September 10, 2017. He was the son of the late William L. and Jean (Gibson) McCartney. Loving husband of 60 years to Elaine V. (Davis) McCartney; he is also survived by sisters-in-law, Sue, Kathleen, and Beverly McCartney; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Earl M., Homer R., and Hal L. McCartney. He was a member of Northmont Presbyterian Church, and a proud US Navy veteran having served during WWII. Prior to his retirement, Mac worked as Superintendent of Security for Allegheny County Courthouse for 32 years. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the HP Brandt Funeral Home, Inc., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., 412 364 4444, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10am. Interment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family asks that donations be made to North Hills Food Bank or Northmont Presbyterian Church.
