Age 87, of Ross Twp., passed away in Wilmington, NC, on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Loving husband of Dolores, and the late Betty Merlack; beloved father of Amy Struss of Ellwood City, Janet Maiocco of Naples, FL, Elaine Hummell, of Syracuse, NY, Paul "Bo" Merlack of Morral, OH and Scott Merlack of Gibsonia; brother of Dorothy Kurek; also survived by ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Bill served in the US Army Chemical Corps during the Korean War. He spent his professional career working with and developing specialty coatings, retiring as executive vice president and general manager of Royston Laboratories. Bill's passion for music was passed down to his children and grandchildren and carried on this day. Friends received on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the H.P.
