Anthony J. Faria

January 16, 1932 – December 17, 2016

Anthony “Tony” Joseph Faria passed away peacefully, after a long illness, in Placerville on December 17, 2016. Tony leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Bette. Loving father of Sheryl Faria, Diane Faria (Jo Kemling), Steven (Gena) Faria and Karen Herman. Brother of Jennie Tyler. Beloved grandfather of David, Michael, Christopher, Allison and Emily, and great grandfather of Emma, Nathan, Logan and Katelyn.

Tony is a native of Denair, CA, born January 16, 1932. Members of St. Simon’s Parish in Los Altos, CA, for over 20 years, he and Bette moved with their 2 youngest to El Dorado County in 1977. He retired from Pacific Bell with 34 years of service in 1989. Tony was a former member of the Shingle Springs Elks Lodge and the Sierra Squares Square Dance Club, also of Shingle Springs. A passion of Tony’s was playing accordion in the S.F. Bay Area and El Dorado County. He was also a devout parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Placerville. He and Bette enjoyed RV traveling in retirement.

A Funeral Service for Tony will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville, followed by interment at Westwood Hills Memorial Park, Placerville. A reception will be held at the Funeral Home after interment. Donations in Tony’s name may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento St., Placerville, CA 95667.
