Betty Jane Cosley, born September 26, 1919 to Walter and Virginia Jacques, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2017, 12 days shy of her 98th birthday. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John Vallie Cosley in 2011, and her brother, Blair Jacques. She is survived by sons John and Robert Cosley, daughters Sandra Rogers and Carol Dayley, and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty was blessed with an amazing life and often remarked that she couldn't believe how lucky she'd always been. She married Jack who had recently enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and a life time of adventures began. After taking on several career directions as successful entrepreneurs and then raising four children, they both traveled to Europe and China. Betty was a published author and loved writing articles about places she had traveled to as well as children's stories. Betty was witty and sassy yet always saw the best in everyone. Most importantly, her family came before all else. She loved spending time with her family whether picnicing on the weekends at the local wineries or sipping margaritas at one of the local restaurants. Her whole family, who loved her so dearly, will now have a painful void without her. Because she created and believed in family closeness, her legacy will continue. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel of the Pines, Placerville, CA.
