Rose Marie Evelyn (Moreno) Palomino Berber went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2018. She was born on March 15, 1941, Los Angeles, California, to Pearl Evelyn Moreno (Garcia) and Louie H. Moreno. Her beloved maternal grandmother Josephine O. Garcia, was a Delaware Indian Princess and maternal grandfather, Clarence M. Garcia was a restaurant and real estate entrepreneur in Oxnard and Santa Barbara. Rose Marie attended Santa Barbara Elementary Schools, Santa Barbara Jr. High School, and graduated from Santa Barbara High School, Class of 1959, where she was an excellent student and active in many clubs and organizations, of which Donnettes was her favorite. She married USCG Raymond H. Palomino of Oxnard June 20, 1959 at the Santa Barbara Mission. After her divorce many years later, she married Tom Berber from Santa Barbara.
She is survived by her most beloved sons, Vincent Michael Palomino and Christopher Henry Palomino (Tracy Lyn), step-son Diego Berber; 3 grandchildren, Justin Alden Palomino (Lara Schick), Alys Dawn Palomino and Steven Christopher Palomino, one great-grandchild Henry Alden Palomino, and siblings, Louie H. Moreno, Oxnard, Juanita A. Zuniga, Atascadero, Clara Rivas, Camarillo, and Belinda Torres.
Rose Marie was a very loving, caring mother and grandmother. She worked as an Executive Assistant for several Fortune 500 companies throughout her working career. After retirement and moving to the High Sierras with her husband Tom, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren - making her hand crafted creations and selling them at many local craft fairs. Rose Marie had a unique force of creative energy and shared her gifts with her grandchildren and friends.
Rose Marie would like you to think of the joy she has left behind, cheerful smile, laugher, love of her sons and family, love of life, loving words and deeds and all the wonderful things she lived for although she’s gone from us.
One of Rose Marie’s favorite verses, which she would like you to remember her by is: “I shall pass this way but once, Therefore any good that I can do let me do it now – for I shall not pass this way again”. (Pay it forward).
Her graveside service will be held at Georgetown Pioneer Cemetery on October, 5, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
