Frederick Fred K. Thompson

Feb. 6, 1927 - June 8, 2011

Fred Thompson was born at home to John “Jack” and Nellie Thompson in Silver City, New Mexico. He grew up in Buckhorn, New Mexico. Fred was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. Professionally, he was a builder of custom homes in the local area.

Fred was preceded in death by his father John “Jack”, mother Nellie, sister Willie and brother John. Fred is survived by his beloved companion, Virginia Sanders and family; sister Gertrude Farrar; brother-in-law William “Slats” Farrar; niece Shirley (Farrar) Kincheloe of Silver City, New Mexico and family and niece Linda David of Turlock, Ca and family.

Friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Monday, June 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville preceded by a viewing starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held later at Mesa Cemetery in Gila, New Mexico. Contributions in Fred’s name are preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place
