Gail Ann Fisher

Gail Ann Fisher was called home January 26, 2024 after a long courageous battle with

pancreatic cancer. Gail was born to parents Luanna and Donald Thoresen on August 13, 1949

and lived to be 74 years old. She was the youngest born of three including Mark and Judy

(Erickson).

Early in life, Gail graduated from Elk Grove High School and worked at her family's fast food

business in Elk Grove, CA. She attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

regularly. She met her future eternal companion, James McKinley Fisher, at a church dance and

she knew he was the one that she would eventually marry (at first sight). Jim and Gail were

sealed for time and all eternity August 1967 in the Oakland Temple and began their life together.

Gail and Jim were happily married for 56 years and had four children, all boys, Ben, Eric, James

and Steven. Gail retired from the CA Department of Corrections in December 2012. Gail and

Jim lived in the Placerville area for 42 years and moved to El Dorado Hills, California four and a

half years ago.

She was a proud, loving grandmother to Madeline, Rachel, Bo, Ruby, Carson, Hayden, Wyatt

and Owen. She cherished spending time with all of her family and grandchildren. She created

memories for them, including Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter egg hunts, birthdays, swimming,

playing outside at her home or at parks, shopping, reading books, coloring, attending

graduations, etc. She made all who came in contact with her feel special. Her family was her life

and number one priority.

Gail was a former survivor of breast cancer in 2000 and demonstrated courage in all times of

illness. Gail cheerfully served her family, neighbors, friends and ward throughout her life. Gail

and Jim hosted weekly Sunday family dinners for many years. Gail had a warm smile, a

contagious laugh and a great sense of humor. She loved and lived the gospel of Jesus Christ

and gave her testimony freely. Gail was loved by everyone who knew her and will be missed

dearly.

A memorial service for Sister Gail Ann Fisher will be held on Thursday, February 8th, at 11:30 AM. It will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 89 Scholar Way in Folsom, CA. There will be a luncheon immediately following the service. The service will also be broadcast on Zoom using the link below.
