Georgieana “Georgi” Easton, 81, of Placerville, California, gently passed away, on January 8th, 2019. Georgi was born to parents Walter and Nancy Smith, September 15th, 1937. She was a Native Californian living most of her life in Placerville. Georgi married the love of her life, Hank Easton in 1962, and bought their home on Cribbs Road, where they raised their sons Hank and Scott Easton. Georgi was enjoying her banking career, her husband and raising her family, when tragedy struck in December 1983. Georgi’s beloved Hank had a massive heart attack, leaving her alone, to raise their sons. Georgi continued in her banking career at Mother Lode, Security Pacific and then finally retiring with U.S. Bank. Georgi also worked part time at the Yarn Shop, where she was able to pursue her gifted hobbies such as cross stitch, embroidery, and knitting. Georgi made over 150 knitted beanies, that were passed out by her daughter in law, to many grateful cancer patients and homeless people.
Georgi received awards for being a multi-gallon blood donor. She was also active in the American Needlepoint Guild, where she loved to travel to interesting locations for her seminars. Georgi also loved traveling the world, her favorite trips were Italy, England, Scotland, and Ireland. Georgi will forever be remembered by many, especially family, by her loving, soft hugs, her melodic laughter, her homespun gifts, her fiery red hair personality and her big, beautiful blue eyes. Georgi was very proud of her sons Hank and Scott, always sharing their accomplishments with great pride. Georgi is survived by sons Hank (Bette) Easton, Scott Easton (Dorothy Hoover), grandchildren Joseph (Lacey) Easton, Jordan and Brandon Easton, Vanessa and Ali Best, great-grandchildren Lilly, Jackson and Kailer, and cousin Doug Smith. She was predeceased by her husband Hank, her parents, her brother Richard Stillwater and her grandson Thomas Easton.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am, on January 24th, 2019, at the Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, California.
