Gerald “Jerry” David Stokes, born November 2, 1955, entered into rest February 13, 2012.
He is survived by his wife Erin and children Tyler, Jackie and Garrett.
Jerry grew up on the peninsula, graduating from San Mateo High School in 1974. He was a gentle person who enjoyed a quiet and simple life, making Placerville his home for many years. He worked as a contractor in the sierra foothills and liked the outdoors. As an active member of his church, Cavalry Chapel, he volunteered his time to work the soundboard during services – he loved music – and worked with the U-Turn for Christ rehabilitation program. He was quick with a joke, his quirky sense of humor bringing smiles to many faces. Jerry’s son is pursuing a degree at the Arizona State University and he was immensely proud of his accomplishments.
Please join us in a memorial as we celebrate his life on Saturday, February 25 at 11:00 in the Cavalry Chapel, 6675 Commerce Way, Diamond Springs. Online condolences may be posted at www.chapelofthepinesfunerals.com Donations to the U-Turn for Christ in Camino are requested in lieu of flowers. Please see www.uturnforchristcamino.com
Leaving us far too early, Jerry will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
