Jeffie “Jeff” Lee Callahan was born Aug. 12, 1922, in Cartersville, Okla. He passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2014, surrounded by many of his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geneva Marie Callahan, and only son, Jimmie Lee Callahan. He is survived by daughter, Stella Callahan Akers; grandsons, Scott Callahan, Jeffry Bowman, Patrick Trotter-Callahan and Matthew Akers; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Elsie Morgan and Mary Jane Shafer.
Jeff was president of The Silver Streak Club for many years and a long-time active member of Green Valley Community Church. Friends are invited to pay their respects at the visitation Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville, Calif., and at the funeral service Thursday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m., at Green Valley Community Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Road in Placerville.
