John Pass was born June 15th 1921 in Canton, Ohio. He served in World War II for 3 years as a foot soldier under General Patton in combat duty marching from northern Africa, across Sicily and into Italy. Pinned down in a foxhole for weeks at the Battle of Mount Casino John suffered severe cold injury disability to his feet and eventual honorable discharge. Back in the U.S. he began his career as a restaurant Short Order Cook. He married Georgia Vasilopoulos in 1951, and as a father helped raised her 2 yr old child JoAnn into adulthood. In 1956 John moved his family to Canoga Park and in 1970 suffered the loss of his first wife to a stroke. Eventually John the Cook met and pursued Bea the waitress and they married in 1971 adding three more adult daughters, Linda Harris, Donna Parsons, and Sharon Walheim to his family. Together John and Bea established in Sepulveda, Ca. the very popular mom and pop coffee shop named simply “John and Bea’s”. After retirement they moved to Camino, Ca. continuing their enjoyment of cooking and serving in the fellowship kitchen of Pollock Pines Baptist Church. God blessed them with a large family that loved them dearly. Together they grieved the Loss of two grandchildren, Gregory to muscular dystrophy and Trevor to Leukemia. John and Bea both believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and loved each other in oneness, happy and inseparable for 39 years. Beas death in 2010 was only consoled with the hope and assurance of John’s eventual reunion in Heaven. With this promise now complete John’s family of four daughters, four son- in- Laws, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren rejoice and give thanks to God. We celebrate the long full life, 97 years, of this courageous veteran, husband, father, grandfather and servant of God.
A Funeral Service will be held for John on March 22, 2019 at 10:00am at Chapel of the Pines, 2855 Cold Springs Rd, Placerville, CA.
