Raised by his grandparents, Ben and Beatrice Goyette, Larry attended St. Francis grammar school and graduated from Christian Brothers High School in 1944. He enlisted in the Navy and after radio school was sent to the East Coast until the war ended. He used his GI Bill funds to attend Pasadena City College and graduated from UCLA in 1955.
Larry returned to the Sacramento area, working in engineering and sales for several heavy-construction companies. In 1959 he married Barbara (Wakefield) Goyette, and while living in Carmichael their five children were born. In 1972 the family moved to El Dorado County and presided over a small apple and pear ranch in Apple Hill.
Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; children Paul Goyette, Mark Goyette, Gary Goyette, Leslie Silver and Ted Goyette; daughters-in-law Janet Cross, Anne Goyette and Andrea Todd; son-in-law Michael Silver; cousin Joan Buehler; and grandchildren Gabrielle, Maxine, Gretchen, Blair, Emma, Aidan, Eoin, Rose, Tommy, Francesca, Teddy and Giselle Goyette and Natalie, Greg and Robbie Silver.
An active member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Placerville, Larry belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Cold Springs Golf Club, the Moose Lodge, the Apple Hill Growers, and Asociacion Guadalupana. He supported his church and community and enjoyed travel, the Sierra Mountains, camping, Giants baseball, the 49ers and all things UCLA. Larry especially loved being with his family, who will miss him greatly.

There will be a Rosary at 7:30 pm on Wed., June 5, with viewing from 5:30-8:00, and a funeral on Thursday, June 6 at 11 a.m., both at St. Patrick Church in Placerville.
