Lofton Talmadge Jones

April 17, 1930 - Aug. 24, 2010

Lofton “Lofty” T Jones was born in Brawley California April 17, 1930 and passed away on August 24, 2010 at the age of 80 of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jones and survived by his 4 children Cheryl Lynch, Cathy Partin, Michael Jones and Connie Petersen, along with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Lofton retired from the telephone company after 25 years and then worked as a long-haul trucker for around 10 years. His passions in life were his grandchildren, hunting and fishing, and was even referred to as a “fish- a-holic”. He was proud of his turkey calling technique and could always guarantee the largest gobbler. If he wasn’t out hunting or fishing, you could find him at his favorite coffee shop “Chuck’s” telling stories of the one that got away!

We will love and miss him, and will always hold his memories dear to our heart.

A visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 30 from 5-8p.m. at Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Tuesday, Aug 31 at 11a.m. at Chapel of the Pines.
