

Evie co-chaired many fundraisers to raise money for the building of Marshall Hospital. She was also active in the Shakespeare Club, Fireman’s Auxiliary and Soroptimist Club where she donated her time to work in their Thrift Store. She was also the 1st president of the 20-30-ettes.
Evie worked with Al at the Union 76 Bulk Plant on Broadway, their Union 76 Service Station located at 4 corners on Main Street, and at Rotary Oil, which later became Amerigas. She enjoyed working on her ceramics in her early years, and later going with friends antiquing. She enjoyed working in her home while Al worked with his cattle on their ranch in Shingle Springs. They eventually built a new home on their property in Placerville where they lived for many happy years.
After both retired in 1977 they took many trips to various parts of the US, Mexico, Alaska, the Arctic Circle and Nova Scotia. They were one of the originals that traveled the Rubicon with the Jeepers Jamboree and made many trips on the Wagon Train. One year Al rode atop the stage coach dressed as Mark Twain and Evie rode in the coach dressed as Mrs. Twain.
Evie is survived by her sister, Rose Mary Calicura of Craig, Colorado; daughters, Sallie Lutes and Susan Karrer (Pete); grandchildren, Shane Eriksen, Debbie Houston (Bob) and Judy Black (Rob); great-grandchildren, Ember and Lance Eriksen, Trisha, Tracie and Taylor Houston, Chelsey Johnson and Austin Black. She also has many nieces and nephews that will miss her.
At her request, there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made to Snowline Hospice.
