Margaret C. Oates

Margaret C. Oates of Diamond Springs passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2011. Margaret was born in Rosewood, KY on July 8, 1922 to Odis and Ethel (Cornette) Carver. On May 11, 1940, she married Lawrence G. Oates in Owensboro, Ky.

Although she enjoyed church, gardening, sewing, bowling and working at the apple barn, she enjoyed time spent with her family most of all. Those who mourn her passing are her husband, Lawrence, her sisters, Thelma (John) Sherrod of Greenville, KY and Jean Westerfield of Cadiz, KY, her daughters Dianna (Bob) Link of Bangor, CA and Cheri (Norm) Ironside of Granite Bay, CA, her son Gary (Patricia) Oates of Verona, WI, her seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

A Funeral Service for family and friends will be held at the Pollock Pines Community Church, 6361 Pony Express Trail, Pollock Pines on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception at the church. Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Westwood Hills Memorial Park, 2720 Cold Springs Rd. in Placerville.
