Margaret Mae Stone

Margaret Mae Stone passed away peacefully at home in Grizzly Flats after a long illness on December 3, 2016. Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years Marshall in 2011. Beloved mother of Marshall Patrick Stone of Placerville, Dennis Michael (Michele) Stone of Davis, Susan Marie (Alex) Bautista of Queensbury, NY, Robert Edward Stone of Bedford, TX, David Paul (Isabel) Stone of Loomis, Thomas Alan Stone of Placerville and the Late Joanne Patricia Stone; Sister of Linda (Dick) Crowton of Garden Valley and Barbara Mantle of San Leandro. Devoted Grandmother of fourteen and Great Grandmother of Seven.

Margaret was a native of Santa Cruz, CA, born March 17, 1932. She worked as a Dental Assistant from 1950 through 1951. After raising her children, Margaret earned an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting from Chabot College in 1982. She was a former 4 year clerk and then president for 2 years of the New Haven Unified School District Board of Education, Past President of the Grizzly Flats Community Services District, Board of Directors from 1989 -1993 and Past President of St. Patrick’s Ladies Society, 1991 – 1993. Margaret loved to fish, write, garden, quilt, listen to music but above all, loved her family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 from 2 till 6 pm at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville. the Rosary and Funeral Mass will be Friday, Dec. 16th beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento St., Placerville, CA 95667.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sacramento. Contributions in Margaret’s name may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at the above address.
