Margot Anne Cathcart

Anne was born on June 19, 1936, in Visalia, California to parents George Walter Haskin and Genevieve Homer Haskin. She went all through school there and was close to many of her aunts, uncles, and cousins. After high school she left Visalia, lived in several California towns, and studied to be a dental assistant.

In 1964, she married William (Bill) Donald Cathcart who proceeded her in death in 2017. Bill and Anne have three children: Cynthia Anne, Rebecca Ruth, and Robert William. Cynthia resides in Statesville, North Carolina with her husband, Richard Bray, and has sons Nicholas and Austin and daughter-in-law Amelia (Austin). Rebecca resides in Placerville, California with her husband Todd Reynolds and has children Julia and Matthew, son-in-law Harrison Hawkins (Julia), and daughter-in-law Savanna (Matthew). Julia and her husband, Harrison, have children Liberty and Mordecai, giving Anne her first two great grandchildren. Robert resides in Cameron Park, California with his wife Gina and they have two children between them, Colten and Emilee.

Anne was a proud third generation Californian and proud to reside in the Placerville area for over 40 years. She was a member of Placerville Shakespeare Club and Native Daughters of the Golden West. For many years she belonged to El Dorado Community Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Due to Bill’s monumental military service, she participated in various military groups including the Marine Corps League, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fleet Reserve Association and Disabled American Veterans. The friendships she gained through these organizations meant the world to her.

For those who wish to join Anne’s family in celebrating her life, they would be honored with your presence at a memorial service on October 1, 2026, at 11:00 am at Chapel of the Pines located at 2855 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, CA 95667. A reception will immediately follow the service.

Anne will be laid to rest at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville next to her beloved husband, Bill. Graveside services are reserved for family.

In lieu of flowers, Anne requested that you consider giving a donation in her name to the Placerville Shakespeare Club and/or Native Daughters of the Golden West scholarship funds for girls.
