Drafted during the Korean War, he served as an army hospital nurse.
He worked in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest as a logger for 50 years and was also a fine carpenter, mentoring many young men in his trades.
In 1970 he moved to El Dorado County where he met his wife, Sharon, of 46 years. They built a home in Pleasant Valley on ten acres and raised a family of four girls. He enjoyed working on his 1934 and 1941 Fords, rebuilding chainsaws and creating with wood.
He lived his life by the word of God and took tremendous pride in his family, home, land, trees and trades.
He is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Carol Hanson, and daughter, Marla Kay.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, daughters Rosanna (Darren), Katherine and Carolyn.
