Bob had a passion for many things; driving race cars, restoring classic cars, 50’s music, racquet ball and weight lifting being just a few. He was a proud former member of the Sierra Ghost Riders Club and rode in the Wagon Train as a Mountain Man. For the last 17 years Bob could be found every Tuesday and Thursday with his coffee buddies at Sweetie Pies, practically reliving the Mayberry porch scene.
Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen, children Robin (Edde) Anderson and Scott (Laura) Newman, step-mom Dena, siblings Dick, Ike and Tammy, and grandchildren Elizabeth, Evangeline, Rehn, William and Emilie. He is preceded in death by his brother Jim and grandson Landon.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service with military honors Saturday January 4, 2014, at 1:00 pm, Westwood Hills Memorial Park, 2720 Cold Springs Road, Placerville, CA. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, WoundedWarriorProject.org. Online condolences may be posted at chapelofthepinesfunerals.com
