Rudolf was born on August 18,1939 in San Francisco and grew up in Danville, California. After graduating from high school, he joined the navy, where he served honorably. He married Diane Collingwood, who he knew from childhood. They were married 61 years on May 26th.
An accomplished woodworker, Rudolf could build a house from the ground up, and did so several times for his family. A devout Christian, he enjoyed sailboats, cowboy movies, and good coffee. He is survived by his wife Diane, son William Lanzendorfer, daughter Joy Ellen Lanzendorfer Rankin, son-in-law Kyle Rankin, and grandson Gideon Aaron Rankin.
