Samuel W. Steiner died on September 21st 2014 at his home in Shingle Springs surrounded by his loving family. Born March 18th 1945 in Long Beach, CA. to Ernest and Helen Steiner. He served in the United States Air Force and worked at Wemco for 30 years before becoming self employed. Sam had a life-long love of animals and birds and gave tirelessly of himself in support of Youth Soccer. He also had a passion for photography and a fascination in the study of genealogy. Sam's survivors include his wife of 47 years Michele (Hermreck), they lived together in West Sacramento for 35 years and spent the last 7 years on their property in Shingle Springs, CA. His Son David and Wife Sherry of Hoffman Estates, IL, his Daughter Denise (Gale) and husband Nathanael of Shingle Springs, CA. His Brother Bruce Southstone of Santa Cruz, CA. His most treasured gifts, Grandson Michael (IL.) and his Grand-daughter Harlynn (CA). A large extended family and wonderful friends. We will so miss his deep resonant voice, his vast knowledge of so many things and his willingness to share that knowledge with us. He will be in our hearts and memories forever.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Rd., Placerville, CA. Interment will follow at Westwood Hills Memorial Park, Placerville with a reception to follow.
