Vernon E. Wyman passed away peacefully at home in Pollock Pines surrounded by his family on November 1, 2010. Born in Stockton, CA on January 30, 1927, Vernon is survived by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Margaret; beloved father of Greg, Mark (Marlene) and Bob (Mari) Wyman; brother of Helen Cipperly; devoted grandfather of Rachel (Mike), Jennifer ( Seth), Robert and Adric and great grandfather of Ava and Eleni; step-grandfather of Reanna (Steve) and Sheri and step-great-grandfather to Kaylee, Emma, Dylan, Ashlee and Tayla.
Vernon was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Stockton High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Humphrey Business College. He was a Veteran of WWII, Army Air Corps and served from August 1945 to 1947. Vernon worked as a CA State Auditor for 36 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the S.I.R.S. of San Jose and ushered at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Santa Clara.
Vernon and Margaret moved to Pollock Pines 11 years ago to be near the outdoors he loved. He enjoyed camping and fishing in the Wrights Lake area. His family was the number one priority in his life. Everyone who knows Vernon knew him as a very giving and loving man. We will all miss him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thur. , November 18th , 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Green Valley Community Church, 3500 Missouri Flat Road, Placerville. Private inurnment has been held. Vernon’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Snowline Hospice’s staff, Partners in Care, Green Valley Community Church and to their friends for their loving support of Margaret and family.
