Virginia Mae Aguilar a beloved wife and mother, the youngest of two children born to William Austin and Edna (Wood) Austin in Seward, Nebraska February 24, 1922. Virgina spent her early years growing up on her father's farm in Seward and later, during her young adult years, working in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Upon coming to California's Bay Area in the mid 1950's, she met and married Pedro Aguilar, ultimately settling in Grass Valley, California in 1959. She fulfilled her dream of living on a farm , raising and working with her beloved horses, while raising their only daughter, Dawn.
Virginia's love of animals was clearly evident and was passed onto her daughter and her grandchildren.

She very much enjoyed her work and especially seeing the students grow up before her eyes. Having worked in this position for 25 years, she was priviledged to drive the children of the children she once drove to school. She received many awards for her excellence in driving and was well respected within the school district community.
Virginia possessed a quiet strength and resiliency that was fortified with incredible common sense and optimism, always enjoying the things she had and the people around her. She lived the last three years in Placerville, CA close to her daughter.
Virginia was pre-deceased by her husband Pedro Aguilar, brother Robert Austin and grandson Zachary. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Bruce, granddaughter Jillian Knott, grandson Vincent Gallo and numerous nieces and nephews. She was an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed.
