December 7, 1931 – January 21, 2022
Currently Resident of Placerville, CA. / Former Resident of Redwood City, CA.
Mom passed away with family by her side, daughter Joanne and her husband Fred Walker, at the age of 90.
We lost our much-loved Mother to Ernie Belasco (Michelle), Diane Slaby (Jim), Joanne Walker (Fred) and Denise Duttlinger (Darryl). She was Grandmother to Katie Lock (David), Jessica Porras (Darren), Natalie Ortega, Nicholas Slaby (deceased) and Christopher Slaby, and Great-Grandmother to William and Emma Lock. She was also a beloved Sister to Carolyn Connolly and her deceased siblings, William Kammerer, Ernest Kammerer, and Bonnie Perry.
Mom was born in Santa Cruz, CA. to Carl and Louise Kammerer. She had a loving family, which moved to a variety of towns, and finally landed in San Francisco, California.
She attended high school at Immaculate Conception Academy in San Francisco and graduated in 1949.
Mom was introduced to one of her brother Bud’s friends who became her true love, James (Jim) Belasco. They married on August 26, 1950, at St. James Catholic Church in San Francisco. They purchased a house in a new development in Redwood City, CA. and settled in to begin a family. They raised their four children there and when the kids were in school, Mom started to work at Macy’s at Stanford in Palo Alto, CA. She worked there for over 30 years. With the kids fully grown, she and Jim anticipated a retirement life of travel. Unfortunately, Jim died suddenly just prior to their retirement date in 1989 and left her devastated. For awhile she lived in Naples, Florida, however she returned to California in 2014 to live with her daughter Denise and to be close to the rest of her family. Her family loved having her home and since have shared many special times, meals, and celebrations.
Vigil and funeral arrangements will be scheduled at a later time, due to current pandemic conditions.
Please honor our Mother’s memory by donating to a charity of your choice.
