July 13, 1921 - July 10, 2019
Albert M. Liguori was born to Thomas and Mildred Liguori on July 13, 1921 in New York City. He and his younger brother, Edward, grew up in the Bronx, NY.
Albert was married September 22, 1944 in St. Albans, NY to his bride Muriel. She predeceased him after 56 years of marriage. He and Muriel were the parents of three sons: Albert Edward, Lawrence Michael, and Paul Charles (deceased), and daughter Mary Louise.
From son Albert and his wife Penny (Sanford) Liguori, he became a grandfather to Michael Lloyd and Lindsey Carol. Recently Albert became a great grandfather when Michael and his wife Jessica gave birth to Elsa Metcalf Liguori. From his son Larry and wife Sandra, he was grandfather to their son Howie.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving aboard ships off the California coastline. Upon discharge from the military and after his marriage, he and wife Muriel first settled in Brooklyn, NY, where sons Albert and Larry were born. Around 1955, the family moved to Plainview, NY, where it expanded to include Mary Louise and Paul Charles.
His professional career was spent as a purchasing agent, working for the Rheingold Brewery, Railway Express, Irving Trust Company, and later, the Bank of New York, from which he retired in 1988.
He and Muriel enjoyed vacationing in the Catskills during their retirement, and especially liked winter vacations in Bromley, Vermont spent with his entire family. With Muriel, he participated in church activities at St. Pius X Church during his early retirement years. He was an avid golfer, as well as a dedicated sports fan of the New York Yankees, football Giants, and the Rangers hockey team.
Although our dad has moved on to the ages, both he and our mom will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
