Anthony was a devoted husband to Helen Cannavale. He was a loving father to Gregory Cannavale (Mariann) and Paul Cannavale (Kristalyn), and a cherished Poppy to his adored grandchildren, Geneva, Joseph, Cole, and Luke. He was also a dear brother to Virginia Sheflin and a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Anthony was a devoted family man and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and kindness. Anthony’s greatest joy in life was being surrounded by his family. Married to his loving wife for 54 wonderful years, he reveled in every moment spent with her, their children, and their grandchildren. He eagerly participated in family holidays, ski trips, and magical vacations to Disney.
An ardent supporter of his family’s interests, Anthony was a steadfast presence at his children’s and grandchildren’s baseball, football, soccer, and lacrosse games. His enthusiasm for cheering on his loved ones was matched only by his dedication to his community. For 15 years, Anthony volunteered at Northwell Plainview, where his vibrant spirit and genuine kindness made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Anthony was not only a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle but also a true role model, setting an exemplary standard of character and compassion for his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His commitment to living a life of integrity and generosity will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
