

Barbara Schnalzer, long time resident of Hicksville, New York, passed away peacefully at the age of 96. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Barbara was the heart and soul of her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness.
Barbara was predeceased by her cherished husband, Steve, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they raised a family that was always her greatest joy. She is survived by her children Barbara DellaCroce (Ronald), Susan Schnalzer (Mike Vitale), Michael Schnalzer (Jodie), and Richard Schnalzer. Barbara’s love extended deeply to her grandchildren, Daniel DellaCroce and Carolyn DaSilva (Greg), and to her adored great-grandchildren Isabella, Vivianna, and Melania DaSilva, who brought her endless happiness and pride. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews.
A faithful parishioner of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church for many decades, Barbara lived her faith through service and community. She was an active member of the Mercy League and a proud participant in the Girls Drum and Bugle Corps.
Barbara’s life was defined by her generosity of spirit and the warmth she shared with everyone she met. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her family—whether gathered around the table, celebrating special occasions, or simply sharing laughter and stories.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Barbara at St. Ignatius Loyola RCC, 129 Broadway, Hicksville, NY 11801 with an Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY.
Barbara’s family and friends will remember her gentle strength, unwavering faith, and deep love for those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, her light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
