Catherine (Kay) Flood passed away peacefully on October 22 with her family around her. Kay was predeceased by her husband Edward and son Gerard. She is survived by her children Marie Mulligan, Ed Flood and Ken Flood, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and her sister Mary Curran Delahanty.
Kay was born in Manhattan and moved to Queens, NY where she was an active member of Saint Sylvester’s church and the school librarian as well as a past president of the Columbiettes. Kay was known as a warm and welcoming host who regularly opened her home and heart to her extended family, friends and visitors. Kay moved to Hicksville, NY in 1996 where she enjoyed time with her daughter and grandchildren and became an active member of Our Lady of Mercy church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Kay’s memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
