Wife and best friend to Francis Leahy who predeceased her in 2017. Mother to Michael & Christina Leahy, Susan and Christopher Abbott and Stephen Leahy. Wonderful Nana to Brian, Megan (Madison), Samantha, Nick (Emma), Danielle, Thomas & Shannon. Big Nana to Callum.
She was born in 1944 to Vincent and Adelaide Haltigan, while her father was overseas serving in the Navy during World War II. She grew up in Franklin Square and raised her own family in Levittown for over 50 years. Dianne was a proud retired nurse who loved to travel and spend time with her friends and family.
Visitation will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 655 Old Country Road, Plainview, NY 11803, on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church, 17 Fordham Ave, Hicksville, NY 11801, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 9:45 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Rd, Westbury, NY 11590.
