On November 14 Frances Randolph passed away with her loving family by her side. Known as Fran, Sissie, Francesca, Grammie and GG she was loved in all her roles - devoted daughter, beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, teacher, friend.
Frances had a long career as a gifted and devoted teacher. She taught generations of young children to read, to become curious and care about the natural world, use their creative imaginations, and believe in themselves. An avid gardener, her green thumb was legendary, from her ability to make orchids bloom and re-bloom to her backyard garden full of roses, clematis, lilies, irises and magnolia trees. Some of her happiest moments were spent in her screened porch watching the flocks of birds who visited her lush backyard.
Fran’s house in Flushing Queens, was a warm and welcoming center for a generation of gatherings, celebrations and festivities. She loved to feed her family! Desserts were her specialty. She was serious about sweets. No meal at Fran’s had less than two!
But perhaps Fran’s most important legacy was her ability to always see the best in everyone and everything. She had her share of hardships and difficulties and yet she was an eternal optimist who in the gloom was always the first to see the sun.
She is survived by her loving family including her children Bonnie D’Abate (Richard), Dr. John Randolph (Tracey), Deb Randolph (Tom), Dr. Gregory Randolph (Lorraine), Her devoted grandchildren Leah D’Abate (Guili), Matthew D’Abate (Caroline), Gregory Randolph (Alice), Benjamin Randolph, Madeline O’Neil (Brian), Zachary Zuffante, Samuel Zuffante, Dr. Jackson Randolph (Attiya), Dr. Max Randolph. She is also great grandmother or GG to Sofia D’Abate, Grace D’Abate, Koa D’Abate-Zavaschi, Riaan Randolph and Aidan Randolph.
She is predeceased by her parents William and Frances Fahey, her husband Jack Randolph, her brother Bill Fahey, her lifelong friend and sister-in-law Joan Fahey, and her infant grandson Chris.
Fran had a long, full life leaving the world a better place than she found it. She was deeply loved and will be missed every day.
Visitation services will be held at Vernon Wagner Funeral Homes, located at 655 Old Country Road, Plainview, NY. on November 17, 2025. The visitation hours are 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. A funeral procession will be leaving the funeral home at 10 am with interment in Calverton Cemetery.
