Fred R. Quijano, age 83, of Amityville, New York and formerly of Scotch Plains, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Estrella, whom he recently celebrated 55 wonderful years of love and companionship. They enjoyed traveling the world in their later years, forming many special friendships and bonds along the way.
Fred was a loving and supportive father to his three children, Heidi (Tom) Beattie, Karena (Dave) Halverson, and Jonathan (Jess) Quijano. He was also a proud and adoring grandfather to his four grandchildren: Sam, Alex, Penelope, and Clara. He will be remembered fondly by his siblings, Lilia Cortes, Eligio (Emelyn), Franco (Aida), Fe Yambao & Loida (Rene) Reusi, as well as many nieces and nephews. His love for family and his ability to create lasting memories will forever be cherished. His family was his greatest joy, and he will be deeply missed by them. He was preceded in death by his father, Eligio; his mother, Martina; and his brother, Arthur.
Throughout his life, Fred touched many lives with his compassion and positive spirit. His legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to inspire all who knew him. The family takes comfort in knowing that Fred’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
