

Jean Mescia of Bethpage, New York, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on May 19, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, Jean lived a full and beautiful life surrounded by love, laughter, and family.
Jean was the devoted wife of the late Vincent Mescia, with whom she shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, a bond built on love, faith, and devotion. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, music, and the joy of family.
Jean was the beloved mother of Vincent Mescia (Diane), Frank Mescia (Renee), Joseph Mescia, Maria Barrelli (Carlo), and Christopher Mescia (Marisa), and the late Anthony Mescia. She also cherished her daughter-in-law, Debi Mescia, as part of her loving family.
Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, Alyssa Ciccotti, Jennifer Mescia, Deanna Mescia, Andrew Mescia, Michael Barrelli, Gregory Barrelli, Alexis Corona, and Megan Mescia, and her precious great-grandchildren, Anthony Ciccotti and Michael Ciccotti. Nothing brought her more happiness than being surrounded by her children and grandchildren, especially during the holidays, which she always celebrated with heart and enthusiasm.
Jean’s loved music and dancing, often filling her home with both. Her talent in the kitchen was unmatched; her cooking was the centerpiece of many family gatherings. She also enjoyed crocheting, creating beautiful handmade pieces for those she loved, and she had a tender heart for her pets, who were always part of her family.
Above all, Jean’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family. She was a woman of deep warmth, kindness, and strength, someone whose presence made everyone feel cherished. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the traditions she built.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, Plainview, NY. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church, Bethpage, NY. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
Jean will be remembered always for her love, her laughter, and the heart of family she built so beautifully.
