It's was with great sadness that I learned  of Joanne's passing. I send my deepest condolences. 
I moved away from Long Island after HS graduation and Joanne and I lost touch except through friends.  I am grateful to have spent an afternoon with Joanne at her childhood home in Plainview about 8 years ago.  Joanne was one of my best friends and her friendship meant the world to me.  Joanne had a big, warm and incredibly kind heart.  She always had time to listen and encourage. I can still remember her smile and her laugh.
Academically, she was a model and inspiration to me. Until Joanne, I had never even heard of an AP class. She was in AP before AP was cool.  Joanne invited me on my first ski trip and gave me a surprise Sweet Sixteen party, we commiserated over our long list of chores to do each weekend.  Joanne was always there for me.  
My daughter who was in middle school at the time, met Joanne and heard all about our high school days.   I described Joanne to her as the gold standard in friendship and only hope that she will also someday have a friend like Joanne.

Joanne is a great girl. We grew up together sharing many ” Lane Ave”  memories,  as well as that our childhood pups were related. Her dog Chappy was my dog Macy’s dad.

So very sorry that Joanne has passed. She was one of kind. I met her though my cousin. Always opened her home to me and my daughter.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I knew Joanne in college and we were both in the same sorority. I always saw her as a leader. She was the person in the group that you looked to for insight and direction. She was kind to everyone. I’m sure she will  be missed. May she rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear of Joanne’s passing. We were high school friends and I have such good memories of spending time at the pool and hanging out.  She was a very kind person - may her memory be a blessing.
