My sister, Marianne, was the 3rd of 6 children born to Harold & Lucille Jacobs raised in Uniondale, NY.  She was a Girl Scout & a member (as all her siblings) of the Redcoat Grenadiers, a marching band that her Dad initiated.  Marianne married John Leary on May 31, 1975 & always laughed  when remembering that the limousine did not show up & a neighbor drove her to the church.  She loved to be the host of block parties many years ago & an annual Super Bowl party in more recent years.  Mare loved the cooler Fall weather, playing dominoes, having her granddaughter spend the night & attend  her grandchildren's athletic games.  Live entertainment was one of her favorite things recently seeing Funny Girl & Jersey Boys for the 8th time.  At home it was The Voice, Who's Got Talent, Rachel Ray & the Walking Dead.  She loved people & people loved her very much.

We are so shocked and saddened to hear the news of cousin Marianne! We have such great memories of her from family picnics and cousin Christmas parties. I loved looking at all the happy and funny photos posted here. She will be missed!  Love to you all!

My memories of Marianne are of a big, beautiful smile and hearty laughter accompanied by a hug whenever we were able to visit. Last year we all gathered for Thomas’ wedding and had fun discussing how to change things to make the world better for our kids and grandkids! I know that she was a big part of her extended family and will be missed. Our sincere condolences to John, the boys and their wives and children as they grieve their loving wife, mother and grandmare! Rest In Peace Marianne; you are in our prayers.

So many wonderful memories of Marianne, I couldn’t name them all . But the best was working in the record room, bowling and our fun times going into the city for dinner and shows. Will miss you.

We are saddened by the news of our sweet Aunt Marianne passing.  As I wrote to Uncle John earlier, we will always remember her vibrant personality and beautiful soul!  She was always full of life and always had a smile on her face whenever we visited.   Her presence just made you feel comfort and she will certainly be missed.   We pray that all of her loving memories will comfort all of her family and friends until we meet again!  Sending lots of love and prayers from Florida!

This is such a shock.  Sending prayers to you all.   It was nice to work with her.  We both started the same way as cashiers and then moved onto work in the office full time.  So very sad.  Love to all.  Noreen

I am so grateful we got to enjoy one last "ladies lunch" in July.  I will miss Marianne's kindness, laughter, smile, expressive faces and the many stories of those most important to her--her boys, grandchildren and John. Gone too soon.
