Robert S. Shapiro
August 27, 1954 – January 29, 2021
https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/5 Shapiro – Robert S. (Bob) devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and former Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Northwell Health. Bob devoted his professional career to Northwell Health and played a major role in making Northwell what it is today. Bob laid the cornerstone for expansion while assuring a best healthcare practice along with innovative ideas and strategies. Bob positively impacted the lives of his colleagues and staff, and no one wanted to see the day he retired in 2017. His kindness, sense of humor, love of everything sweet along with his masterful bowling and golf games will always be cherished by his many lifelong friends. Bob is survived by his wife Raweya (Ronda), his son David and his wife Olya Driker, his daughter Laura and her husband Michael Kern, and grandchildren Andrew and Emily. The family held a small private service with hundreds attending remotely. Donations in Bob’s memory are asked to be sent to The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research’s Center for Autoimmune, Musculoskeletal and Musculoskeletal Disease. I was working in the Business Office of North Shore University Hospital-Manhasset when I met Bob.
He always went above and beyond with everyone in his Departments. When he said his door was always open, he meant it.
We shared many laughs over the years.
He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
