Rose grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NY with her late parents John and Louise Settembre, and her two brothers, Augustine and John. Her sister, Palma, had predeceased her.
Rose graduated from Lafayette High School in 1946 and went on to graduate from business school. She worked for many years as a Legal Secretary and Steno typist.
She met the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) at a YMCA Saturday night dance and they were married April 11, 1953. She continued dancing for as long as she was able. Together they raised their son and two daughters in Plainview, NY.
Rose enjoyed the beach, dancing, playing cards, ceramics and entertaining friends and family at her home. She was an active member of PTA all through her children’s school years. Rose was also an active member of St. Pius Church in Plainview and enjoyed the many trips taken throughout the year. She always enjoyed a trip to New York to see a Broadway show or a stay at Woodloch Pines. Her passion was to always cook a good meal for friends and family. She always wanted to make sure her guests were comfortable and well fed. Rose was a loving mother, grandmother and later in life a great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with those she loved.
