Born on November 9, 1938, in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York, Stacia grew up with a warm heart, sharp wit, and a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms. She later made her home in Forest Hills, NY, where she met and married the love of her life, Frederic Brueckel. Together, they shared 20 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 1980.
Stacia built a long and fulfilling career as an Executive Secretary, lending her professionalism to companies such as American Home Magazine, Barker & Shalit, Woolworths, and Gardiner Advertising. Her colleagues remember her for her unwavering dedication, grace under pressure, and her kindness.
Beyond her career, Stacia was a woman of great passions. She loved flowers and found peace and joy in their beauty. The beach was her sanctuary, where she often spent time soaking in the sun and sea air. She had a lifelong fondness for swans, creatures she admired for their elegance and serenity. A proud anglophile, Stacia delighted in all things British, its culture, traditions, and charm.
Stacia’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She is survived by her loving children Christopher (Stephanie) Brueckel, Alex (Helen), Brueckel, and Lisa Dove; her cherished grandchildren Lauren, James, Michael, Jamie, Kathryn, Nick, and Sarah; and her adored great-grandson, Alexei. She was predeceased by her siblings Beatrice, Anthony, and George, who she now joins in eternal rest.
Stacia will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her elegance, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Stacia’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, Plainview, NY.
Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in honoring a life so beautifully lived and so deeply cherished.
