Agnes, known as Aggie to many of her friends, was one of the original parishioners of St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano since 1968. Agnes was very active with her parish and taught youth religious education classes and participated in “defender of life” programs.
Agnes was born on January 20, 1929 in Los Angeles, California, the youngest of four daughters of Thomas Rooney and Margaret Haire Rooney. Both of her parents immigrated from Ireland, County Mayo.
She married Paul Leroy Donovan in 1948. Paul entered the U.S. Navy shortly thereafter and served for six years in Korea and Japan.
Paul and Aggie raised six children starting in California (Southern California and the San Francisco Bay area). The family then moved to Richardson, Texas in 1968 where Paul was a construction superintendent with I.C. Deal Investments.
Agnes went to nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1973. She worked as a nurse for over twenty-five years until retiring in 1998.
Agnes was involved in many organizations as a loving, dedicated volunteer and mentor for more than forty years in the Richardson and Plano area.
Aggie and Paul were married for 52 years until Paul passed away in January of 2000.
She later married Hilton Brodie on December 10, 2011. Hilton survives Agnes in Seattle, Washington.
Agnes is survived by five children: Kathy (husband Rick) Vornbrock of Wylie, Texas; Patrick Donovan of Wylie, Texas; JoAnn (husband Charlie) Myers of Garland, Texas; Christy Clark of Wylie, Texas; Larry (wife Rose McNaull) Donovan of Rockledge, Florida and daughter-in-law Debera Donovan.
Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters Margaret, Mary and Helen and one son, Michael Donovan.

(Christy Donovan Clark) J. Paul Clark, Donovan Michael Clark, and Joseph Donovan.
Great-Grandchildren: Nolan, Meredith and Elsa Clark, and Ian and Hayde Clark.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ted Dickey Funeral Home, located at 2128 18th Street, Plano, Texas 75074.
A vigil service will follow at 7:00 PM.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, located 1201 Alma Drive, Plano, Texas 75075.
Father Clifford Smith will officiate.
Following Mass, a reception will be held at St. Mark Parish Center.
After the reception, a committal service will be held at 2:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park.
Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano, Texas has charge of arrangements.
