Alice Almeta Maze Bogdan, lovingly known as Mimi, lived and loved fully throughout her life. Born March 10, 1940, in Trenton, NJ, Alice married her childhood sweetheart Joe Bogdan, affectionately known as Papa. Together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Mimi and Papa were blessed with three children, Keith (Christy), Karen (Eric) and Kent (Roxanne), plus eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition, Mimi is survived by her beloved brother, Ronnie, and niece Marsha. Mimi was preceded in death by her parents David and Helen Maze; her brother Marty; and her nephews Carl and Michael. Mimi had an adventurous spirit from an early age and loved to travel, which began when she attended the first Girl Scout Jamboree in Michigan. Over the years, she lived in Australia, visited all 50 states, traveled extensively through Canada and Europe, adding memorable adventures in Asia and Africa. She was always planning her next adventure.
Mimi loved to compete and never turned down a chance to play tennis, golf, bridge, or basketball. She was an avid tennis player in to her 70s, golfed for decades and topped off her athletic career by playing basketball in the Senior Olympics.
Mimi worked at Canyon Creek Day School for over 25 years and devoted countless hours to serving her community and numerous organizations including the Junior League, Plano Railroad Museum and Network. Most recently she was an Office Angel with the Episcopal Church of Epiphany. Mimi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, competitor, traveler and community servant. Her zest for life, adventurous spirit, generous heart, and love for her family will remain with all who knew her.
Surrounded by family and friends, Mimi passed peacefully on September 27th. Rest in eternal peace, Mimi. We will celebrate Mimi’s life on October 14, 2026, at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany at Richardson at 10:00 with reception to follow.
