Alice Marie was born in 1935, the youngest of three girls to Milton and Verba Latta.

She grew up in and around Grand Saline, Texas during the depression and survived on rabbits and a garden, and went to church riding an old ford tractor! They soon moved to Floydada, Texas and graduated from school. She got married and had two sons Don and Mike, and unfortunately her marriage ended. After moving back in with her mother and daddy, she soon met the love of her life James Mathews, and she had another son Ray! She then went to work as a school cafeteria worker in the Plano school district, later becoming a manager of a school cafeteria. She then began a career with GTE phone company now known as Verizon. When she retired from there she wasn't through and went to work at D-Med and pursued her hobbies of sewing, cake decorating, she made dolls and teddy bears and took up sketching and painting and cooking of course, she was an excellent cook. She loved taking care of her husband and her children and grandchildren and did very well at it.

She was mom and granny to a lot of people other than her own and is loved and missed by all! God bless her!

We have many, many fond memories of Aunt Alice. She fashioned for us a wonderful teddy bear. She made us a darling Cookie Monster cookie jar and even put homemade cookies in it. She was a wonderful cook and hostess. We knew that her home was always open to us. We will always remember our lovely Aunt Alice. In fond remembrance and with love always, Rick and Donna Richardson
