Ann was born August 1, 1934 in Luke, Maryland to the late Robert W. and Helen Mae Thomas. Her family resided in West Virginia until they relocated to Satanta, Kansas in 1946 and shortly moved to Douglas, Kansas.
Ann graduated from Douglas High School in 1952 prior to attending Photography School. She married George H. Krug on March 19, 1955 in Newkirk, Oklahoma. They made their home in Straight, Oklahoma at the Cities Service Gas Company community where they lived until they moved to Hooker, Oklahoma in 1968. While in Straight, George and Ann had two children, Debra Lynn and George Gregory.
Ann’s passions revolved around her family and children’s activities, including Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader. She worked at Audrey’s Fashions and Alice Hackers Photography in Hooker until she began working at Doll Motor Cadillac and Oldsmobile Dealership in Liberal, Kansas becoming the first lady salesperson in Kansas. She even won a trip to Spain in 1979 for top Cadillac sales.
In the early 90’s, George and Ann relocated to Grove, Oklahoma to enjoy their retirement. She was active with the Elk’s Lodge and Chick’s with Sticks pool club. After the death of George in 2003, Ann got remarried, to Marvin Wayne Dyer on January 23, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They enjoyed traveling and karaoke until the death of Wayne in 2013.
Ann enjoyed sewing, making porcelain dolls, and playing pool with her Chick’s with Sticks friends. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hooker, OK.
Proceeding her in death are her parents, Robert W. and Helen Thomas, husband George H. Krug, grandson Chandler Krug, step-granddaughter Brenda Butler, sister Jean Kay Ogden and husband Wayne Dyer, stepmother Oteka Thomas.
Survivors include her daughter Debra L. Butler and husband Charles of Hooker, OK, son George G. (Gregg) Krug and wife Karen of The Colony, TX, brother Robert W. Thomas Jr. (Bud) and wife Susan of Wyandotte, OK, her brother-in-law Ron Ogden of Wichita, KS, step-daughter Angela Dyer of St. Joseph, MO, step-daughter, Michelle Sanders and husband Shawn of St. Joseph, MO, stepbrother Donny Rodman and wife Carolyn of Georgetown, TX, stepbrother Terry Rodman and wife Kathy of Edmond, OK, grandson Austin Krug and wife Sky of Texarkana, TX, granddaughter Cristin Blosser and husband Scott of Woodland Park, CO, granddaughter Angela Yarbrough and husband Eric of Owasso, OK, step-granddaughter Kerri Parker of Hooker, OK, step-grandson Shanon Butler and wife Erica of Hooker, OK, step-granddaughter Chelsea Sanders of Madison, WI, step-granddaughter Carley Sanders of St. Joseph, MO, step-granddaughter – Presleigh Baker of St. Joseph, MO, and many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Burial will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, OK at a later date.
