Barbara Ann Coulter

Barbara Ann (Geter) Coulter, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great, great-grandmother and aunt passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at the age of 86 at her home in Plano, TX, surrounded by her daughters.

She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity and was blessed to have her as the matriarch of the family. Her warm presence left an undeniable mark on all who knew her and she will be remembered for her generosity, strength and love for her family, which was expressed through the time she spent with them.

Born on September 7, 1939, in Atlanta, GA to Charlie and Ruby Geter. Her family moved from Columbus, GA to Dallas, TX where her future husband, Charlie (Pete) Edward Coulter, SR soon followed. They were married for 28 years and settled in Plano, TX with their five children.

She worked for 32 years at TI/Raytheon, with determination and dedication taking night classes, she ended her career there as a QC Inspector. After her retirement she enjoyed pastimes such as going to Casinos, travelling and painting. Barbara was an avid reader who loved bird houses, yard art and was passionate about gardening. You could find her outside daily either watering the grass, weeding or tending to her plants or flowers; roses being her favorite.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Ball of Plano, TX, Tammie Davis and her significant other Ronnie of Princeton TX, Tronnie Barbosa and her husband Victor of Wylie, TX and Tonnie Simpson and her husband Dave of Anna, TX. Eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ruby Geter, husband Charlie (Pete) Edward Coulter, SR, son Charlie Edward Coulter, JR, bothers Ernest (Bud) Geter and Charlie Geter, JR, sisters Polly Geter, Frances (Skito) Wright, Evelyn (Big Honey) White and Jeanette Miller.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano. A private service will be held for the family and extended family.
