Bennie Gerald Morris, 82, of Sachse, Texas, passed away on October 22, 2013. He was born on July 29, 1931 in Wood County, Texas to Terrel and Eula Morris. “Gerald” is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Peggy Morris, four nieces, three nephews, two aunts, and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents. He had a real love for East Texas, music, guitars, his wife Peggy and his cat Smokie. Gerald was a Sergeant with the Plano Police Department for many years. He then became the founding officer and the Chief of Police for the City of Sachse. Gerald retired from the Arco Security Department in 1985. He will truly be missed by many. Visitation will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 7pm to 9pm. A graveside service will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2pm at Big Springs Cemetery, and will be officiated by Pastor Lash Banks. Music selections will be performed by Jim England.
