Two grandchildren Mallory Rogers of Richardson, TX and Vincent Noble of Princeton,TX. Bobby peacefully passed away in Pilot Point Texas on May 9, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Born to Rolly Earl and Oleta Alphin on January 16, 1939, Bobby Earl Alphin was the oldest of three children. A father, a coach, a brother, and a husband, Bobby’s life was defined by the many roles he played in his family’s life. From a star high school football player, to an eventual UT fan, Bobby had a love for sport. From football to basketball, and everything in-between, Bobby enjoyed an active lifestyle well into his adult years; anyone who knew him knew he loved to get into the middle of the action, not simply watch it on TV. Bobby also enjoyed art and was a talented sketcher, carver, sculptor, and home movie maker.
In his early life, Bobby gained an appreciation and love for the outdoors and animals. His ability to care for animals was almost veterinary and would foretell of his paternal instincts. Shortly after high school, Bobby married high school sweetheart, Brenda Joy Alphin. The couple’s charisma afforded them popularity in school and the love and affection of their friends. The two were known for always having a full house and celebrating any occasion. Working as hard as he played, Bobby led a successful 30-year career with Allstate as an insurance adjuster where his kindness and genuine regard for others made him highly effective in helping others during times of loss.
As a father, Bobby is survived by his three daughters: Ronda Noble, Jennifer Rogers, and Amy Adair. His excitement and love for life were underscored by the love and attention shown to his three daughters. To say that he and Brenda were active in their girls’ lives would be an understatement. Whether it be coaching softball practice, making home movies that were shown on local TV, to quick jogs around the lake that would leave his daughter Ronda out of breath, Bobby had a knack for squeezing the most out of every second with his family. Bobby enjoyed celebrating life and took advantage of any and every occasion to be surrounded by family and friends. He especially loved to celebrate birthdays, Halloween, and Christmas.
Bobby’s ability to take advantage of any time with family was reaffirmed by his excitement when becoming a grandfather. The same enthusiasm and involvement afforded his children was extended to his grandchildren: Mallory Rogers and Vincent Noble. Like a second father to both, Bobby spent the later part of his life enjoying cheerleading practices, birthday parties, and weekend trips in the RV with his grandchildren.
As we look back today in celebration of the successes of a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, we should be reminded to live life by embracing every moment of time with family and friends, just as Bobby strived to do during his.
