Carol Josephine Harris

Carol was born on August 30, 1941 in Dallas, Texas, a daughter of Harmon Henry and Helen Josephine (Drake) Reeves. Carol was an only child growing up in Oakcliff, listening to the lions roar at the Dallas Zoo.

She attended St. James in Dallas and graduated from Our Lady of Good Council High School in 1959. Carol then attended University of Dallas, living in the dorm. We don't know how she got her parents to agree with that one.

She met Jon Edward Harris III on a blind date that year and they were married on September 9, 1960.

They lived in Dallas and raised three children: David Paul Harris born on May 30, 1961, Brian Patrick Harris born on February 7, 1963, and Glenna Kay Harris born on February 14, 1965.

The family moved to Farmers Branch, Texas right before Glenna was born, wanting a better life for their family. Fourteen years later they moved three miles north to Carrollton, where they lived for twenty-six years. By this time, all three of their children were married and working on expanding the family to twelve grandchildren.

Brian married Bonnie Hixson in 1981 and have five children: Patrick, Robert, Steven, William Allen, and Rachael.

Patrick married Ashley and they have a daughter Madalyn. Robert married Emma Wheeler and have a song Gabriel. Steven married Rachel Mauer.

Glenna married Richard Smith in 1984 and have two children William Edward and Eric.

David married Christine Wagner in 1988 and five Amanda, Phillip, Cole, Jessica, and Anna.

There are twelve grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Carol was of the Catholic faith throughout her life.

The funeral service for Carol will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Ted Dickey Funeral Home located at 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074.

A visitation will be held the evening prior, Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM also at Ted Dickey Funeral Home located at 2128 18th Street, Plano, TX 75074.

Burial will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park Cemetery in Dallas.

The family suggest memorial's in Carol's name be made to the American Cancer Society.
