OBITUARY

Carol Ann POPE

March 3, 1938June 11, 2020

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Carol Ann Pope, a devoted mother and friend of all whose lives she touched, on June 11th, 2020.

She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Plano, Texas. She was in her 82nd year.

Born Carol Ann Jarred in Sydney, Nebraska on March 3, 1938. She was the daughter of Gail Arthur and Regina Lucille (Messing) Jarred. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Schools and graduated from St. Pat’s High School. Shortly thereafter, she married Donald Sneddon, moved to Colorado, had four children, and eventually settled in Texas.

She spent the better part of her life as a licensed vocational nurse, caring for the elderly. Persistent illnesses brought about many challenges for Carol, but she remained strong in her Christian faith and she was active in her church for many years where she regularly attended services and bible studies. After her marriage to Don Sneddon, Carol married twice more. First to Clifford Atkinson and finally to Gene Pope.

Carol is survived by three sons, one daughter, and two daughters-in-law, Rick and Bonnie Sneddon of Plano, Texas, Roy Sneddon of Plano, Texas, Sherrie Hernandez of Oxnard, California, Roger and Trish Sneddon of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A private family service will be held at Ted Dickey Funeral Home 2128 18th St. Plano, Texas on Saturday June 20th, 2020 at 11:00 AM.
